1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how TapVelocity handles information in connection with ViteQR, a browser-based QR code creation tool. ViteQR is designed to let you generate and export QR codes locally in your browser.
2. QR Code Content You Enter
ViteQR processes QR code content directly on your device. Information you enter into the generator, such as URLs, text, Wi-Fi details, phone numbers, email addresses, contact cards, colors, and logo choices, is used by the page in your browser to create the QR code preview and export files.
TapVelocity does not need to receive, store, or review the content you encode in order for ViteQR to generate static QR codes. After you export a QR code, the encoded content is part of the file you create and control. The anonymous export statistics described below do not include the encoded QR code content.
3. Browser Storage
ViteQR may use your browser's local storage to remember your selected settings, recent form values, design choices, and uploaded center-mark image data so the tool can restore your workspace between visits.
This saved data remains in your browser storage unless you clear it, reset the tool, or your browser removes it. Except for the anonymous export statistics described below, TapVelocity does not receive this locally stored workspace data through the core QR generation feature.
4. Anonymous Export Statistics
When you export a QR code, ViteQR may send a small event to TapVelocity to understand general feature use and improve reliability. This event includes the export format, QR code data type, generated QR version and module count, and bounded design or export settings such as error correction level, colors, shape styles, quiet zone, output size, transparent background choice, and whether a center mark is text or image.
The export event does not include the encoded QR code content, content fields, URLs, text, Wi-Fi names or passwords, phone numbers, email addresses, contact-card details, logo text, uploaded logo image data, logo filename, or a raw copy of your browser's locally saved workspace.
To avoid counting repeated exports of the same QR code more than once, your browser creates a local secret and sends only a one-way hash derived from that secret and the export identity. TapVelocity does not receive the local secret or the underlying encoded content.
For anonymous visitor statistics, the server creates a one-way HMAC hash from the request IP address and User-Agent using a private server-side secret. TapVelocity stores only that hash, not the raw IP address or raw User-Agent. This hash is intended for aggregate, anonymized statistics and depends on the server-side secret remaining private.
5. Contact Form Submissions
If you contact TapVelocity through the ViteQR Contact page, the information you submit is sent to TapVelocity through Web3Forms, a third-party form processing service. This may include your name, email address, inquiry type, subject, message, and technical or anti-spam information associated with the submission.
Web3Forms may process and retain the form fields you submit for a limited period, up to one year, to provide the form delivery service, prevent abuse and spam, maintain security, and support service operations. Web3Forms may also process technical information such as IP address, browser information, timestamps, and spam-prevention signals.
Contact form submissions are used to respond to your message, route support, product, business, legal, or privacy inquiries, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and keep appropriate business records.
6. Information Collected When You Visit
When ViteQR is hosted as a website, ordinary technical information may be processed by hosting providers, security tools, or server infrastructure. This can include information such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, and error or security logs.
This information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site. It is not used to inspect the content you enter into the QR generator.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Third-Party Services
The current ViteQR QR generation tool does not require an account, payment flow, or server-side QR content storage. ViteQR may collect the anonymous export statistics described above. ViteQR also uses Google Analytics 4 through the Google tag to understand aggregate site traffic, page usage, referring pages, browser and device information, and similar analytics signals. The Contact page uses Web3Forms to process form submissions. Web3Forms and its service providers may process submitted form fields and technical or anti-spam information under their own policies.
Where required, TapVelocity will provide additional notice or consent options for cookies or similar technologies.
8. How Information Is Used
TapVelocity may use site-level technical information and contact form submission information to:
- operate and maintain ViteQR;
- protect the site from abuse, spam, attacks, or unauthorized access;
- receive, route, and respond to contact form messages;
- diagnose bugs, outages, and performance issues;
- understand general product usage, including anonymous QR export patterns, and improve the service;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
9. Data Sharing
TapVelocity may share limited technical information with service providers that help host, secure, maintain, or analyze the website. Contact form submissions are shared with Web3Forms so messages can be processed and delivered to TapVelocity. Web3Forms may use spam-prevention and infrastructure providers to operate and secure the form service. TapVelocity may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of TapVelocity, users, or others.
TapVelocity does not sell the content you enter into the QR generator.
10. Data Security
ViteQR's browser-local generation model reduces the need to transmit QR code content to TapVelocity. You are still responsible for keeping your own device, browser, and exported QR files secure, especially when entering sensitive information such as Wi-Fi passwords or private contact details.
Because contact form submissions are transmitted over the internet and processed by a third-party form provider, you should not include sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, security, credential, payment-card, or confidential business information in contact form messages unless it is necessary for your request.
TapVelocity uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the website infrastructure, but no website, browser storage mechanism, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Choices
You can clear ViteQR's saved browser data by using the tool's reset controls where available or by clearing local storage/site data in your browser. You can also choose not to enter sensitive information into QR codes, and you should review exported QR codes before sharing or publishing them.
Your browser may provide additional controls for cookies, local storage, tracking prevention, and third-party permissions.
12. Children's Privacy
ViteQR is not directed to children, and TapVelocity does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the QR generator. If you believe a child has provided personal information to TapVelocity, please contact us so we can review the issue.
13. International Use
ViteQR may be accessed from different regions. Technical information and contact form submissions may be transferred to or processed in countries other than your own, depending on how TapVelocity, Web3Forms, and other service providers host, secure, and maintain their services.
14. Changes to This Policy
TapVelocity may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of ViteQR after an updated policy is posted means the updated policy applies to your use of the service.
